Morning Sunrise Quilt Pattern Test
In true Laura fashion, my round up of the Morning Sunrise Quilt pattern test is about a year late. If you’ve been around for a while you’ve probably noticed I’m not the best at blogging, but one of my 2022 goals is to be more diligent at capturing and keeping a written record of the quilts that I make. So without further adieux, please allow me to present my version of the Morning Sunrise Quilt!
I was honored to be chosen by my friend, Alexandra Bordallo, to test her very first quilt pattern. Alexandra is a quilter based in Spain, and designs fabric collections for Art Gallery Fabrics (how cool is that?!?!). This quilt was my second pattern test and I learned so much from the experience.
Since Alexandra designs for Art Gallery Fabrics (AGF), I chose to use AGF for my version of her pattern. I combined AGF Pure Solids (Spiceberry, Cherry Lipgloss, and Miami Sunset) with two prints from the Playroom collection along with oval and square elements to bring this quilt to life. Be sure to check your favorite local quilt shop to see if they have these fabrics available.
When it came time to choose how to quilt this quilt, I immediately knew I wanted to include both hand and machine quilting. Hand quilting gives an added layer of texture and I thought it would pair well with the machine quilting.
Lastly, I added my signature with my custom labels from Everemblem. They carry a wide variety of high quality labels and ship internationally. For 10% off your order, use TEKSTYLES10.
I do hope you’ll give this pattern a try!
